My first sewing project

Today I had the opportunity to use my "new" sewing machine that has been in hiding since I got it last Christmas. My homeschool group had a sewing day for moms and any kids that wanted to learn to sew. Our project was a t-shirt dress, the end result is below. I think Dominique likes it, and I was pretty impressed with myself for being able to finish a project. Now I may actually be able to teach my daughters to sew when they're old enough!

Visit to Georgia

At the beginning of March I made a surprise trip to visit my Grandma in Georgia. I hadn't seen her in a few years because of various excuses (having 3 kids in the last few years, I guess!?) and her health has been declining recently, so I finally made the trek at 7 1/2 months pregnant (thankfully without the kids). The visit was delayed by one day because of snow in the Atlanta area if you can believe it, but the trip was still enjoyable, albeit short nonetheless.

Babies on my mind

Can you tell what I've been thinking about lately? I just got back from a baby shower for Mat's cousin Sabrina today who is due April 3rd and thought it would be fun to go through some old baby pictures of our kids.

In Memory: Denes Sandor Eszenyi (Jan 4,1906 - March 11,2009)

Old Man of the Mountains, as he was fondly referred to by close friends and family, Mat's grandfather recently passed away after a remarkable 103 years of life. This photo captures so well the essence of old and new life (can anyone guess which of our kids this is?), and it couldn't be more timely as we get ready (again) to bring new life into the world. I say again because my own grandfather's death happened just days before Zoli (our 2nd child) was born. We will miss you, opa, and look forward to a future reunion!
